Key Learnings

Create Accompany

& Motivation

Users are expecting to be accompanied while using the app, and believe more encouragements can help them continue working. It’s also crucial to give motivation and persuade users to start and follow their plan

Explore User’s Actual Daily Needs

There’s some features that users find not that helpful based on their personal needs, such as Relax and Practice. Maybe those features need to be improved, be more personalized, or be deleted

Simplify And Grab Focus

Since most of the users don’t have long focus, the app should concentrate on how to attract users with short and effective content, and simplify the features and make them easier to understand

User Testing & Synthesis

Goal

Understand which feature users think can help them most, what they think about current features, and listen what they are expecting about app’s personalization.

Steps intro can be replaced with benefit explanations

How can timer help with focus issue? How can it prevent me from going into other app or doing other things?

How can planning feature keep track of what I’m doing?

Plan feels a bit out of comfort zone, how to improve experience?

What kind of content will practice session have?

Why use gate as relax feature icon?

Will user have a free trial before they subscribe?

Don’t know how to answer question 4

Can I add link of other relaxing videos into the app?

Can AI play story or music to me when I’m using the timer feature?

AI planning and reward system attract me, saves a lot of time in making plan

Like the illustration style, feel warm hearted

Like the Today’s Plan feature, can design more on that

Past time data makes me satisfied, seeing how many tasks are finished

Reward + AI accompany make this app unique

The onboarding questions help users to analyze their procrastination issue

Like the overall design style, feel smooth and clear

UI in Practice feels like social media, in the comfort zone

Interesting and simple to have search bar inside AI

Timer can lock the app, want to have animated background at the timer

The nav bar can disappear in the timer

Wanna see more choice at the onboarding part

See more connection between personalization and AI assistant

Today’s plan session feels a bit unclear

The Add Task feature can be simplified more

Too much text in the practice page

Question 3 can be deleted, onboarding feels too long, too many text

Have more detailed selections and report for the onboarding (like MBTI test)

Want to see the reward collection history in time data

Filter can be used to differentiate ongoing and finished tasks

Change outfit for AI, or maybe give it a home to edit

AI can have different encouragement words when clicking

Wanna see some TED talk about successful example at the practice page

Want to have a check list in plan session

Relate plan catalog’s color to the options in onboarding

Add a rating question at the onboarding to rate pressure level

Let user choose preference for timer background and settings

Maybe AI can ask your mood before start planning today, to decided your work load

Make plan differently based on your working habit (comfortable working time, relax mode, etc)

Have pop-up notification reminder for upcoming current task

Questions?

Based on those feedback, I summarize few key conclusions of how user think about the major features:

100%

love the Reward system and most users think its cute design can give them some motivation to collect them when using the app

80%

love the AI assistant and Plan’s main page and timer feature. Most users think AI is being helpful through out the app and accompanied, and think plan is organized

90%

Like or dislike the Practice page and most users think they won’t spend much time on this feature and there’s too much text to read

80%

Like or dislike the Relax (main and edit) and Practice (main). Most users think they won’t think about this feature while relaxing by their own, and not sure if they’ll spend time on exploring different practices

For the overall feature ranking:

Plan (Timer), Plan (main), and AI Assistant appears most frequently in user feature ranking’s Top 3

Practice Page appears most frequently in the least favorite position

And interviewees were asked to grade this app from 0-5, here’s their average score and quotes:

Nebula: It’s an attractive app overall, but I won’t use some features, and I’m not sure how the app can get me under management

Serah: Really love the AI guy and the rewarding system, but some parts have too much information and need more filters

Jouy: Mr. Potato (AI) needs more improvements and some parts have too much information, need more image!

Rainy: I think the visual is good, but I wanna see more content and how they work in the app

Jona: I think the app is strong enough to satisfy my needs and gives me some entertainment, but it feels a bit anti-instinct and out of my comfort zone

To conclude, most of the procrastination relieve apps are focusing on time management and relaxation practice separately. The apps focusing on plan building don’t have a clear suggestion of how to relax, and most apps focusing on relaxing practice can’t plan out a day’s activities. In that case, our product aims to be a friendly app that helps users personalize their best-fit plan to organize their daily activities, relax themselves, and practice efficient time management.

Competitor Analysis

There are many apps that help building plan or giving relax suggestions, but few of the app try to combine both together, and most app doesn't have an AI assistant or any smart guide to teach user how to arrange time properly.
